Devil’s Noh Mask, Demi Parure
Rare demi parure of Selro’s Devil Noh Mask, in uncommon faux ivory with a pink and purple bejeweled turban. The mask definition is excellent, with slight loss on the cheek and eye only. However, the earrings show no loss at all. Measuring 1 3/4″ tall by 1 1/2″ wide, the pin is in quite good condition for its age (50+ years). Enamel is relatively sharp, with some fading in spots, and some loss along the turban folds, but it only adds to the charm of this piece. Two chatons are missing from the side and front of the turban. Marked Selro Corp. on the back, the closing mechanism is in fine working order. Clip-on earrings measure 1 1/8″ tall by 3/4″ wide, and function properly, as though barely worn. Enamel on the turban shows gradation of color, with two different pink shades, designed to highlight the folds to appear more realistic. Purple chatons make the earrings a real standout! There is almost no enamel loss on the earrings, but there is one tiny rhinestone missing.
